About Grounded Learning CE

CE courses and exam prep built the way they should be — directly from the NEC, by a fellow electrician with 25+ years in the trade.

Built Different. Built Better.

We’re not another course mill. I built every module from the actual NEC because our trade deserves better than recycled content.

Straight from the NEC

No recycled outlines or generic summaries. Every module is developed article-by-article from the actual code — with real-world applications you’ll recognize from the field.

Fair, Transparent Pricing

You’ll see your total before you pay — no hidden fees, no surprise charges. Launch pricing details coming soon — quality CE shouldn’t cost a fortune.

Built by One of Us

25+ years in the trade — IBEW apprenticeship, commercial and industrial projects, multi-state Contractor’s licensing. I’ve been where you are, and I built these courses with that perspective.

English & Spanish

Our full NEC 2026 curriculum is available in professional Spanish. The bilingual workforce is a huge part of this trade — it’s past time someone built courses for them.

Four NEC Editions

Whether your state’s on the 2017, 2020, 2023, or 2026 cycle, we’ve got you covered. Same quality across every edition.

Instant Certificates

Pass the assessment, download your certificate. No waiting period, no extra fees. You did the work — here’s your proof.

I Built the Courses I Wished Existed

After 25 years in the electrical trade, I’ve sat through my share of continuing education courses. Most of them were the same experience: recycled generic content, nothing tied to the actual code, and the only goal was to run out the clock so you could print a certificate. You didn’t learn anything. You just checked a box. That’s not what CE should be. If you’re going to spend hours of your time and your money, you should walk away knowing something you didn’t know before — something that actually matters the next time you open the codebook on a job site. So I built Grounded Learning CE from scratch. Every module is developed directly from the NEC source materials — the actual code articles, not someone’s summary of a summary. I wrote these courses the way I’d want to learn: real code references, real-world applications, and practical knowledge you can use on Monday morning. This isn’t a course mill. There’s no team of content writers who’ve never pulled wire. It’s one Master Electrician who’s spent a career in the field, building something that respects your time and our trade.

I’ve Been Where You Are

I’m Shane Buck — Michigan-licensed Master Electrician, 25+ years in the trade. I came up through a five-year IBEW apprenticeship, ran large-scale commercial and industrial projects, and held Contractor’s licenses in multiple states. I started Grounded Learning CE because I know what it’s like to need CE hours and not want to waste your time. Every module I write comes from that experience.

  • Michigan Master Electrician License (Active)
  • 25+ years in the electrical trade
  • IBEW JATC 5-year apprenticeship graduate
  • Previously held multi-state Contractor’s licensing (MI, WI, IN)
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety
  • NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Training
  • Commercial, industrial & institutional projects
